Alex Dimson | Associate
Alex Dimson is an Associate at Kim Orr.
Alex served his articles with the firm and was called to the bar in 2009. Prior to articling Alex attended the University of Western Ontario, where he graduated in 2008 with his LLB. Alex received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2005 from the University of British Columbia. While at Western, Alex was the Editor-in-Chief of the faculty's student newspaper and a Supervisor of Western's community legal clinic. Alex also served on the Board of Directors of a large not-for-profit organization. He was the recipient of the Douglas May Memorial Prize, awarded to a student who has made a significant contribution to the quality of life of the faculty and the Genest, Murray Award in Advocacy.
Alex acts as part of the legal team on a wide array of class actions and complex commercial litigation matters. Alex current cases include:

representing the plaintiffs and the national counsel group in class actions involving Medtronic defibrillators and defibrillator leads;

representing the plaintiffs and national counsel group in a class action involving Guidant pacemakers;

representing the plaintiffs and the national counsel group in a class action against a major pharmaceutical company in relation to an anti-psychotic medication; and,
- representing the plaintiffs in a securities case involving allegations of misrepresentations regarding a company's ability to produce low-cost, high-quality silicone in commercial quantities.
